Hi Friends and welcome back to my blog! Today’s topic is a little ways away from what I usually write about. I am venturing into the world of all things cute and fuzzy! What’s weird is that Im writing on this topic of cutie patooty dogs but honestly I have never owned one nor have I had a strong interest in having one until recently. My culture back home in Kenya, particularly in the village of Busia, recognize dogs as mostly used for watch keeping and herding strangers away from properties. They are known to be vicious in instinct and can easily maul any unrecognizable being who dares to cross into their space.
My more recent love for dogs has developed thanks to the culture and societal norms I’ve been exposed to here in Alberta. But I would have to give credit to my boyfriend for helping me tap into my love for puppies. He loves dogs probably more than people…and prob almost as much as he loves me. He gave me the idea to write about them for my blog post today so here it goes..
Here are the 12 MOST ADORABLE puppy breeds in life! (disclaimer – this is my opinion, all doggies are cute but these guys to me are just…)
12. St. Bernard

St. Bernards are known for their gentleness, friendliness and calm nature. They are of a larger size so they need some space to roam around and stretch. Although they are friendly, they shouldn’t be around very small children because they could unintentionally knock them over. Otherwise they are trainable with time and love their families with all their hearts. Fun fact: you may know this breed from the 1992 family comedy film named Beethoven.
11. Yorkshire Terrier (aka Yorkie)

Here’s to cuteness all around. This pupper with its gorgeous long hair ranks high as one of the cutest dogs out there! It many times can be found traveling in style thanks to its small size, examples being in purses, bags, maybe even across the chest in a fanny pack? Although they’re tiny, they generally think they own the world and pick fights with larger dogs. To avoid this make sure to get them socializing at a young age. A few discipline classes with other dogs never hurt a pup either. Overall yorkies need a lot of attention and tending to but they love their families very much.
10. French Bulldog

Just look at that face and rich color! this dog is a rare breed thus placing it a bit more on the pricey side. Nevertheless this pup has an easy going personality. They like to spend a lot of time playing and sitting on the couch relaxing. French Bulldogs are intelligent, and training them is easy as long as you make it seem like a game and keep it fun. Socializing is a must and is easy to do with this breed of dogs. They need an owner who is consistent, warm and patient. Overall frenchies make good companions and are very loving pets.
9. Chow Chow

Appearing as majestic as a lion and yet still humble and calm in nature, the chow chow obviously earns its rightful place as one of the cutest dogs around. Originating from northern China, chow’s are said to carry the appeal of a teddy-bear, the grace and independence of a cat, and the loyalty and devotion of a dog. He’s not really fond of being hugged or fussed over, but he’ll be a quiet, attentive companion to his favorite person, and his loyalty extends to other family members.
8. German Shepherd (aka Alsatian)

The German Shepherd is one of America’s most popular dog breeds— for good reason. He’s an intelligent and capable working dog. His devotion and courage are unmatched. And he’s amazingly versatile, excelling at most anything he’s trained to do including obedience competitions, search and rescue, police and military, work for the handicapped and much more! Originally bred to herd flocks all day, this is a high-energy dog who needs a lot of activity and exercise. American bred German shepherds are calmer than their European counterpart, however both hardly differ in being the faithful and loyal companion that they are.
7. Cavalier king Charles Spaniel

With its adorable fluffy long hanging ears, the cavalier is known to be a great house pet, not to mention pretty easy on the eyes. I mean who can get enough of this innocent adorable pup? Warm and lustrous, with a sweet expression, they hold the power to extract constant petting and unlimited supplies of food from people under their spell. Not surprisingly, this breed can easily become fat, which spoils its lovely lines, so be strong and offer a walk or playtime instead of the potato chips and pizza your Cavalier is angling for. of course they are loving to the family and great companions to boot.
6. Corgi

It doesn’t get much better when you have a dog with cute up facing ears and little tiny legs. Welcoming, energetic and playful in nature, Corgi’s are wonderful pets to have around. They’re Easy to train and eager to learn. Corgi’s are of 2 distinct types, one being the most commonly loved called Pembroke with its familiar gold and white features. The other being the cardigan having multiple colors and slightly larger than its counterpart. Next time you’re in front of social media take a moment just to watch Corgi’s splash into pools, I promise you wont regret it. And yes you’re welcome. Fun fact: Queen Elizabeth the 2nd received a corgi on her 18th birthday and is very fond of them to this day.
5. Bernese mountain dog (aka Berner)

One cant help but marvel at how majestic this dog looks. He has a reputation of being faithful, loyal, affectionate and very smart. He’s a large and sturdy dog breed with a friendly and calm disposition, and he’s well suited to conformation, tracking and obedience. His beautiful colors, similar to that of the cardigan corgi, make this breed quite a sight to behold, just absolutely stunning. He is in need of lots of space and shouldn’t be left alone for too long for he’s happiest when he can participate in family activities. He’s great around all ages.
4. Siberian Husky

With its thick coat and icy blue eyes (or multicolored), the Siberian husky is definitely worthy of being placed high on this list of adorable dogs. It is easy to see why many are drawn to the Siberian’s wolf-like looks, but be aware that this athletic, intelligent dog can be independent and challenging for first-time dog owners.
Moreover, they are not generally known to be aggressive and function well in multi-dog homes and homes with children too. It takes an experienced and confident dog owner who sets out rules and is consistent to own one. In the end they turn out to be wonderful family companions.
3. Pomeranian

Is there really anything wrong with this adorable creature. Pomeranian’s are of German descent and are easily recognized by their luxuriant fluffy double coat, coming in a wonderful array of colors. They are both intelligent and active dogs. Despite their size, they tend to want to pick fights with other dogs and they may think they own the world. Nevertheless, poms make excellent watch dogs with their alert attitude and tendency to bark. Of course they’re great with children and good companions all around.

As is the case with most short-faced dogs, his large expressive eyes, wrinkled forehead, cocked head, innocent expression, and strange sounds bring out parental feelings in many people. Adorableness overload with this one, just look at his sunglasses, what a lady killer! Small in size and he isn’t much work when it comes to exercising. He is polite to people and other pets and seldom gets into real mischief. may need a lot of time at the vet due to potential health problems but otherwise this pupper may just be the right companion for you.

And now for my first pick. Can we just take a moment to admire this God given miracle… just…just take a minute. Just look at this baby, who can even get enough?!?! Words cant do justice towards it. This breed is known to be friendly and tolerant in nature. His intellect and natural athleticism makes him a more than capable dog. He needs tons of exercise and a purpose in the home like retrieving the news paper in the morning or waking people up. Include him in family activities because he is just that, a family dog. He’s playful and trustworthy with children and when a stranger comes around, dont bank on him barking them away, perhaps a wag of the tail and a flash of his characteristic golden smile will suffice.
